Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has come under a fair bit of criticism recently.

The Gunners haven’t had the greatest start to the season. They are still in the title race, but dropping points in eight of their first 16 Premier League games is not ideal at all.

Arteta has to find a way to turn things around, and most Arsenal fans are fully behind him. We truly believe the Spaniard has what it takes to deliver the goods.

However, some Arsenal supporters have been blasting Arteta recently – a few are even urging Stan and Josh Kroenke to sack him!

How much Arsenal will have to pay Mikel Arteta if they sack him?

Arteta deserves a lot of praise for the work he has done at Arsenal.

The Gunners were at their lowest point in decades when he took Unai Emery’s job almost five years ago. He inherited an ageing squad whose quality was nowhere near the level required.

Arteta had his ups and downs early on, but he managed to go through it all and build one of the best teams in Europe. Arsenal are challenging for all the trophies now and are getting the respect they deserve.

Despite that, some people are calling for Arteta’s head because his side drew to Everton at home. That, as most Gooners will admit, is ludicrous.

However, for some reason, if the Kroenkes and the Arsenal board decide to listen to that small minority and sack Arteta, it will cost them an absolute fortune.

Journalist Steve Kay has revealed that Arsenal will have to pay Arteta a whopping £26 million if they terminate his contract at the end of this season.

Reacting to an Arsenal fan supporting Arteta, Kay said: “For those still speculating about Arteta leaving at the end of the season, it’s worth noting that Arsenal would need to pay him a hefty £26 million to terminate his contract, simply not happening.

“Arteta is firmly at the helm for the foreseeable future, whether critics like it or not.”

Should Arsenal sack Arteta?

If Arsenal sack Arteta, it will be up there with one of the worst decisions in the history of the club.

The Spaniard is among the best managers in world football right now. He has completely changed Arsenal’s fortunes and has made them a feared club again.

Arsenal should stick with Arteta and the Kroenkes should back him. If he can’t turn things around and bring silverware back to the club, we don’t think anyone can right now,

Arteta has our unconditional support – he is the right man for the job. We’re sure most Arsenal fans are of the same opinion too.
