Arsenal fans have some excellent news coming their way ahead of the North London Derby.
The mood around the Emirates hasn’t been great recently after the Gunners dropped points against Brighton prior to the international break. Then, things got worse when Martin Odegaard suffered an injury that could rule him out for a month.
Gooners were waiting for some good news, and David Ornstein has revealed that Mikel Arteta has agreed a new three-year contract at Arsenal.
That gives the Gunners a massive boost ahead of the game against Tottenham on Sunday.
The salary Mikel Arteta is set to earn from his new Arsenal contract
Arteta is one of the best managers in the world.
Yes, the Spaniard has only won one FA Cup and a couple of Community Shields, but the job he has done at the Emirates since he took charge of the club in 2019 is just phenomenal.
Arteta is the biggest reason why Arsenal are challenging for the Premier League title, and the 42-year-old is undoubtedly the most important man at the club right now.
That’s why Arsenal want to reward him, and they have now reached an agreement with Arteta over a new three-year contract.
GiveMeSport revealed before Ornstein’s update that Arteta had promised Arsenal that he will sign a new contract in the coming weeks.
They revealed that the Spaniard’s current salary is £8.3 million-a-year, which is around £158,000-a-week.
Now, Arsenal have decided to reward him with a huge raise, and the Gunners boss is set to earn a whopping £15 million-a-year or £288,000-a-week after he signs his new deal.
To compare that to Arsenal’s current wage bill, Arteta will earn a higher salary than every single player at the club right now.

£15 million-a-year is a lot of money, but we think Arteta completely deserves it.
The Arsenal boss has done an incredible job already, and we are sure he will bring the big trophies to the Emirates in the coming years.
Arteta’s new contract will make him the third-highest-paid manager in world football.
Roberto Mancini is on top, earning an eye-watering £21.5 million-a-year as the manager of Saudi Arabia. Arteta’s good mate Pep Guardiola is second, pocketing £20 million-a-year at Manchester City.
Diego Simeone earns £10.1 million every year at Atletico Madrid, while Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is paid £9.6 million-a-year for his services at the Santiago Bernabeu (GMS).
