Ian Wright has revealed that he really does not like the way Arsenal play under Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners have been criticised for becoming one of the most boring teams to watch in Europe this season, and their performance against Sporting CP proved that once again.

Simple question: How do Arsenal win the Champions League from here?

Arteta’s team produced an xG of just 0.64 against the Portuguese club and had just one shot on target across 90 minutes.

Wright has now been venting his frustration towards the way the team plays and the lack of confidence the manager instils in the players.

Ian Wright does not like watching Arsenal play under Mikel Arteta

Ian Wright has made it plainly clear that he does not like watching Arsenal play under Mikel Arteta.

The former Gunners’ striker is now worried about Arsenal’s chances of getting over the line in the Premier League title race and ended up arguing with Roy Keane.

Keane does not buy into the notion that Arsenal are starting to fall apart, and pointed to the fact that Arsenal have been great for most of the season.

However, Wright remains very worried about Arsenal under Arteta “We should know what this is going to take, and then you’re watching the boys, you’re watching the way we play, which honestly, I don’t like the way we play.

“I’m just taking the way we play because I want us to get over the line.

What do you think will happen when Arsenal take on Man City?

“We’re in a position that we’ve been in three times before. Why should I say to people who come up to me, no, don’t worry, have faith? Because we’re at the top.”

When Keane told them to stop playing nervously around their own penalty area, Wright insisted: “I don’t believe that Arsenal under this manager you can do that.”

The former Manchester United captain then told them to ignore the manager’s instructions and start taking some responsibility; however, Wright insists they would not do that to Arteta.

“I don’t think that it would happen to Mikel for these guys to totally ignore what he wants. You’ve seen him. He manages every single detail,” added Wright.

“I would have been myself. I would have been the person who did what I wanted to do when I was in the last third.

“I don’t know if the players have got the capability or the balls to do that with this manager. They haven’t got they haven’t got to do it because why hasn’t anyone done it yet?”

Arsenal travel away to City at the weekend and must prove that they have the bottle to get the job done in the title race.
