No pundit in football wants to see Arsenal succeed as much as Ian Wright and the legendary Gunners striker believes Mikel Arteta has proven him right.
Wright is desperate for Arsenal to get over the line and win the Premier League and has been a firm backer of Mikel Arteta from the very beginning.
Now, speaking on the Arseblog podcast this week, Wright has explained just why he felt Arteta was always the right man.

For Ian Wright, nothing would mean more than seeing Arsenal win the title.
And if they do pull it off, Wright believes Mikel Arteta will have both proven him right, and also write his name in the books as one of Arsenal’s best ever coaches.
“All right, Mikel Arteta, let’s just go into it so the fans understand what we’ve got here in respect of, for me, one of the greatest managers, especially if he finishes this off, one of the greatest managers Arsenal will ever have, right?,” Wright said.
“They just sent this man from a number two to Arsenal Football Club. I remember saying, you know something, just watching him at City, the way he moves, the way players talk about him, he’s probably the guy we needed, and remember that dressing room at the time, he’s probably the guy we need to kick these guys into shape.
“And like, what, we’re now six years on, he has exactly proven me so right.”
When it comes to being the very best Arsenal manager of all-time, Arteta will have some way to go before he reaches the milestones of Arsene Wenger.
Wenger won three league titles and seven FA Cups during his tenure, putting him very much at the top of the tree.

However, when it comes to the likes of Herb Chapman and George Graham, Arteta is on course to run that pair close.
Sure, those two won two league titles apiece but Arteta only needs the one to get the ball rolling really and start his own legacy.
Certainly, in terms of the modern day Arsenal coach, Mikel Arteta is as good as it gets behind Wenger.
