Arsenal managed to see off Chelsea in a hard-fought encounter at The Emirates but Ian Wright believes there’s a concern within the performance.

The Gunners once again relied on set-pieces to get them over the line as both William Saliba and then Jurrien Timber netted from corners.

However, Chelsea got back into things before half-time through their own set-play and according to Ian Wright, Arsenal need to be putting games to bed.

Who surprised you the MOST against Chelsea?

Ian Wright reacts as Arsenal beat Chelsea at The Emirates

Ian Wright is behind Arsenal winning the Premier League title as much as anyone right now.

But he’s also realistic about what needs to happen and watching on for Premier League Productions, Wright admitted Arsenal have got to start taking more chances.

“Chelsea, once they went down to 10 men, they started to play. It was worrying,” Wright commented.

“Arsenal showing those nerves, those jittery nerves at the latter stags of games, they need to take the opportunities earlier on so they can relax at this stage. They have to just win now, especially the home games. It’s not going to be something that instills you with loads of confidence but it’s a win.”

A few worrying signs for Arsenal against Chelsea

This was a game that Arsenal had to win and they did get over the line in the end, which is all that matters.

However, there were some worrying trends in the game that might have been punished by a better side on another day.

For a start, Chelsea dominated possession, holding 59% to Arsenal’s 41% which, for a home team, is not ideal.

Answer honestly, was Declan Rice lucky to escape punishment here?

Arsenal also created 12 chances and took only two, while they got away with late drama thanks to Joao Pedro being ruled offside prior to Liam Delap scoring.

The Gunners were also out-tackled (20-17), aerial duels (16-10) and corners (10-5).

Of course, the main result is all that matters and title winners need to get three points in games like these.

But Mikel Arteta has plenty to ponder and Arsenal need to keep improving to ensure they win the title.
