Morgan Rogers to Arsenal is one of the transfer rumours that is very much picking up steam ahead of the summer window springing into action.

Rogers’ superb season for Aston Villa has caught the attention of all the top clubs in Europe and Arsenal, Man City and more are all keen on the England youngster.

Arsenal, though, seem to have one foot ahead of the rest, with Rogers believed to be more than open to making a move to The Emirates if a deal can be agreed.

Now, in what looks like a boost for Arsenal’s hopes of landing Rogers, TalkSPORT journalist Alex Crook has claimed Villa may have to sell.

Which Morgan do you want at Arsenal and WHY – Gibbs-White or Rogers?

Aston Villa could be forced to sell Morgan Rogers to Arsenal

There is no smoke without fire and it does feel like the Rogers to Arsenal rumours will continue all summer long.

Indeed, according to Crook, Rogers could very much end up leaving Villa due to finances.

“The interest in Morgan Rogers from Arsenal is genuine,” Crook revealed live on air.

“I’m told there have been early discussions between Arsenal and Rogers’ camp. I think if a huge bid is made – around the £80-100m mark – then Villa, with their financial limitations, might well have to sell him.”

Rogers moving to Arsenal would pose questions around just where he would fit into Mikel Arteta’s team.

Sure enough, he could slot in down the left but if you are spending north of £80m on a player, you’re going to want to play him in his best position, which is as a number ten.

That would mean the likes of Eberechi Eze, Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz all likely battling it out to start and effectively pushing at least one of them to the bench.

Nevertheless, Arteta’s goal right now is to keep improving his Arsenal team.

Rogers’ signing does that and if he has a strong showing at the World Cup, we should expect Arsenal to move quickly on trying to get the deal over the line.
