Arsenal have one of the best youth setups in the world.

The Gunners have produced some truly incredible young players over the years. Bukayo Saka is arguably the biggest name of them all, but there are several others.

Emile Smith Rowe and Omari Hutchinson are thriving elsewhere, while Ethan Nwaneri is making history at Arsenal now at the very young age of 17.

Now, there is another exciting young talent coming through the ranks at Hale End.

Arsenal’s Max Dowman is now in line to break Ethan Nwaneri’s record

Max Dowman is arguably the most exciting young talent in Arsenal’s academy right now.

With Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly being promoted to the first team, someone had to step up for the youth sides on a consistent basis.

All eyes were on some of the older academy players, but Dowman, who is just 14 years old, is the one making all the noise.

The teenager has played five times in the U18 Premier League and thrice in the UEFA Youth League. He has impressed in both competitions and has excited everyone who has watched him play.

Football Transfers reveal that sources close to Arsenal think Dowman is an ‘insane footballer’ and have compared him to Brazil legend Kaka.

It has also been claimed that Dowman is ‘in line’ to break Nwaneri’s record – the one he holds for being the youngest player in history to make an appearance in the Premier League at 15 years and 181 days.

The 14-year-old is unlikely to get a senior opportunity in the Premier League this season, but he is still said to be ‘on track’ to challenge the record set by Nwaneri.

Arsenal are organising a special game for Dowman

Dowman is reportedly being ‘gradually integrated’ into the Arsenal first-team. He has been spotted in many senior training sessions as well over the last few months.

Mikel Arteta has shown that he isn’t afraid to give opportunities to young players, and it looks like Dowman is on his mind.

The report claims that a ‘behind-closed-doors friendly has been scheduled in two weeks’ time’ by Arsenal, to give Dowman a chance.

The report claims that the likes of Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly will play in that game too, as will a few senior players, and the youngsters will be assessed by the club.

Dowman, for those who don’t know, is a versatile player capable of playing in central midfield, as a number 10 and also out wide. He is great with both feet and has an eye for goal.
