Ben White made his England return in dramatic fashion last night as he was booed onto the Wembley pitch against Uruguay.
White then went on to score for the Three Lions, before then giving a penalty away in injury time as the game finished 1-1.
White’s recall and the decision to keep leaving out Trent Alexander-Arnold is a big talking point as well but Sean Dyche believes that for England fans, the situation with White is a difficult one to accept.
Is Max Dowman the obvious replacement for Noni Madueke at Arsenal if he is ruled out?
Sean Dyche explains why England fans would boo Ben White
Speaking on TalkSPORT about the return of White to the England fold, Dyche tried to look at things from a fans’ perspective.
And in doing so, he claims that White has opened himself up for criticism.
“Ben White is an interesting one. I mean, if I put my fan cap on, I’d find it odd. I myself I don’t know Ben White as a person, but I’m sure he’s a fine fella. So I’m not questioning anything to do with this person.I’m not,” Dyche said.
“But there’s a situation, I would find that tough if I was a fan, because I’m, well, I am a fan. I’m a fan and I’m an ex-footballer. If I had them Three Lions on me, mate, I ain’t turning it down. Whether I have a row with the manager or whatever, I’m still playing.

“So I do find that a bit tricky, you know, because I’d just wear the shirt and get on with it, personally. But then I think players are changing across the board. Players have a much bigger say than they ever did about these things.
“I’m not saying you shouldn’t have a say. But come on, you know, your country says, will you play? And if you say, ‘oh no, I’m not playing for three years,’ allegedly, then I would, if I was a fan, go, ooh, it’s a bit tricky. And then you say, all right, I’ll play again now. But I don’t think it’s as simple as that.”
Whether or not Ben White will now be selected as part of the main group to go to the USA this summer, remains to be seen.
Thomas Tuchel seems set on selecting Tino Livramento, while Djed Spence also seems to be in his good books as well. There is, of course, a spot at right back available right now with Reece James injured yet again.

White’s issue at the moment is getting regular game time for Arsenal. He has played a bit more recently thanks to injuries to the likes of Jurrien Timber.
In addition, his ability to play centre-back and left-back if needed – as well as in midfield – might also convince Tuchel he’s a good one for the squad.
