It’s totally obvious which team Eberechi Eze is more likely to join between Arsenal and Tottenham

Arsenal and Tottenham are two of English football’s greatest rivals, and they’ve had many famous battles over the years.

Indeed, Arsenal fans gleefully remember the two 5-2 wins back in the early 2010s, while Spurs fans still talk about the 4-4 draw from 2008.

However, in recent times, Spurs and Arsenal have done battle in the transfer window on numerous occasions.

Indeed, Tottenham wanted Christian Norgaard this summer before he joined Arsenal, while the Gunners considered Joao Palhinha before he moved to Tottenham.

Now, both teams are in for Eberechi Eze, but, sadly, it now appears Eze could be headed to Spurs.

Eberechi Eze to Tottenham is more likely than a move to Arsenal

From the outside looking in, it appears obvious which team is more likely to sign Eberechi Eze at this point.

Sadly for Arsenal fans, that team is Tottenham.

Indeed, as much as Arsenal admire Eze, it doesn’t appear they’ve ever been all that serious about this deal this summer.

Arsenal have been linked to Eze for months, but no bid has gone in, and Arsenal haven’t done anything to get the ball rolling in that time.

It looks like Arsenal’s interest has been nothing more than admiring glances from long distance that haven’t progressed, and after two months of the window being open, it’s hard to understand why this is the case.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have made concrete moves on Eze in the past 48 hours, ramping up their interest.

Yes, Spurs have also not moved for Eze previously in this window, but let’s not forget the circumstances around Tottenham’s summer.

A few weeks ago, Spurs thought they were signing Morgan Gibbs-White before that deal fell through, while James Maddison’s injury diagnosis last week only exacerbated their attacking midfield issues.

Tottenham haven’t been as purposefully inactive on the Eze front as Arsenal have, they have had other targets in mind, and now, due to circumstance, they’re pushing on with this deal. Meanwhile, Arsenal appear to still be in the same spot they were with Eze six weeks ago and not much is happening.

The reality is that, at this moment in time, Spurs appear to be more active and more serious about this deal, and that makes Tottenham the more likely destination for Eze.

Who could Arsenal go for instead of Eberechi Eze?

Arsenal may miss out on Eze to Tottenham, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Indeed, Arsenal don’t necessarily need a new number 10 at this point, and, according to some, Arsenal want a left winger more than they want Eze.

A left winger could be on the agenda, and there have been some exciting targets linked in recent times.

Rodrygo is an Arsenal target, while Rafael Leao has also been on the Gunners’ radar too.

If Rodrygo or Leao arrive at the Emirates, that would certainly soften the blow of Eze potentially moving to Tottenham.
