Arsenal academy starlet Mika Biereth made a flying start to his loan spell at Motherwell, before picking up a long-term injury.

However, after initial expectations that he would be absent for three months, he made an earlier return to action as he came off the bench and scored a penalty in a 3-3 draw against Ross County.

Biereth is a popular player amongst his academy peers, and was a standout performer for the Arsenal youth sides prior to his loan. He has already shown glimpses of his quality at senior level, and there will be plenty more to come.

Stars send messages to Mika Biereth

Biereth posted on Instagram following his successful return to action, and he received praise from his fellow Hale End academy stars, as well as Bayern Munich superstar Jamal Musiala.

“Nice to be back!” Biereth posted.

Musiala, as well as Newcastle star Tino Livramento, commented with heart emojis following his return, whilst former Bayern Munich starlet Joshua Zirkzee was clearly amazed at his speedy return, commenting “wow.”

Recent Arsenal debutant Charles Sagoe Jr commented “it’s the avocados,” hinting his amazement at his early comeback, whilst fellow Arsenal loanee Tyreece John-Jules applauded Biereth, commenting “straight back to it.”

Biereth’s loan to Motherwell is a chance to test the 20-year-old in a physical league, and despite his injury he has already scored twice and assisted twice in two games.

This is a positive sign from the Danish striker, and if he can now stay fit for the campaign, he can give himself a chance of returning to the Arsenal first team.

He scored 12 goals in 26 appearances for the under-21 side, and was very highly rated when Arsenal brought him into the academy from Fulham, for whom he scored 25 and assisted 15 times in 37 academy games.

Motherwell face Aberdeen tomorrow night, and he will be hoping to play himself into a starting role in the coming weeks.
