Arsenal are embroiled in a Premier League title race with Liverpool as they look to claim their first trophy since 2020.
Arsenal are still on a high following their 2-1 victory in the North London Derby but now face former manager Unai Emery at the Emirates Stadium in another tough encounter.

Mikel Arteta and his side know that they can ill-afford to drop any more points having already had frustrating draws with Fulham, Everton and Brighton in recent matches.
With Micah Richards believing some forwards are ‘underperforming’, another fellow pundit has had his say on Arsenal’s current state of affairs and has given a rather surprising verdict.

Jamie Carragher believes Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal reign ‘may have peaked’
Writing in the Telegraph, former Liverpool defender and now pundit Jamie Carragher believes that Arsenal may have already peaked under the guidance of manager Arteta.
Carragher stated: “Have we already witnessed the peak years of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal reign? It feels like this Emirates era is heading towards a crossroads, with Arsenal in the middle of a high-stakes game.”
The former England international believes that Arsenal are hanging on in the title race but believes that questions could be asked of the manager should they fail to lift a trophy this season.
Carragher explained: “For now, Arsenal are just about doing enough to keep the optimists on board the Arteta train. However, emotions are running high. There have been moments this season when Arsenal have been an average performance or a defeat away from the first signs of a derailment.”
Arteta needs more attacking options at his disposal
Arsenal have been hit with injuries all season and in particular in forward areas with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus both unavailable long-term.
Carragher believes this weekend could be pivotal in the Premier League title race, he stated: “This weekend feels significant for Liverpool and Arsenal.”
However, the Gunners head into the Villa game with just four fit attacking options and it seems that Arsenal’s interest in Benjamin Sesko may not come to fruition following an update from journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Arsenal have been offered Dusan Vlahovic as an alternative option but it seems that Arteta has his heart set on Sesko, having shown an interest in the Slovenian forward back in the summer.
Arteta needs reinforcements now, as the Gunners cannot afford to keep squandering chances like they have done in recent matches. If Arteta is not backed in the market, that elusive League title may keep slipping further away.
