Not many could believe it when Arsenal secured Jorginho’s signature in the 2023 January transfer window, as the midfielder signed from Chelsea.
It was a peculiar signing, but one that Arteta had faith in, with the rewards of capturing the Italian showing over a year and a half into his time at the club.
From adding experience in the dressing room to being innately composed on the pitch, Jorginho is a well-loved figure at the Emirates and is relishing his time with the Gunners.

At the end of the 2023/24 campaign, the 32-year-old penned a short-term contract extension at Arsenal, reinforcing Arteta’s admiration for the ex-Chelsea star.
Jorginho has certainly found a place to call home in the capital, impressing at Stamford Bridge before transferring his wisdom to North London.
Aside from what the experienced midfielder offers Arsenal, the Italian shared what the club currently offer him, with Jorginho pinpointing one thing he loves about being a part of the squad.
“The spirit of this group, the energy, the atmosphere in the changing room and training ground is absolutely incredible,” the Euro 2020 winner said in Arsenal’s pre-match press conference.
Arteta has put his touch on the training ground, ensuring that the squad remains unified as the Gunners continue their quest to win the Premier League title.
