Arsenal have now gone five seasons without silverware, and the pressure is subsequently growing on Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners haven’t lifted a trophy since Arteta’s FA Cup triumph in 2020, when his side ran out 2-1 winners over Frank Lampard’s Chelsea at Wembley.
Missing out on the Premier League title to Liverpool this season, the North Londoners were dumped out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage by Paris Saint-Germain, and were knocked out by Manchester United and Newcastle in the FA Cup and League Cup, respectively.
Arteta has been criticised for this, and the Spaniard will certainly be doing everything he can in the off-season to make sure his squad is best prepared to conquer next season.

Josh Kroenke reveals Arsenal’s transfer plans for the summer
Arsenal are looking to sign a striker, a winger, a central midfielder, a defender and a back-up goalkeeper this summer, as they look to significantly strengthen Arteta’s squad.
Viktor Gyokeres has emerged as the leading striker candidate, while Arteta is a huge admirer of Nico Williams and wants the Spaniard to fill the wide forward vacancy.
Andrea Berta was appointed as sporting director back in March, and the Italian is expected to be backed financially in the market.
Speaking to Arsenal.com, Josh Kroenke revealed that the North London club’s ownership will be investing this summer.
“We plan to invest to get behind winning and doing better next season,” he said.
“We’re delighted we have our sporting director, Andrea, who will play an important role in this. He is part of a unified and strong team, supported by the board, who are crystal clear on exactly what we need to do, and the way in which we want to do it.
“The right way. The Arsenal way.”

Stephen Warnock thinks Arsenal will win nothing next season
Despite the investment that Kroenke is promising, not everyone is convinced that Arsenal will be successful next season.
Speaking to Sky Sports, former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock revealed his belief that the Gunners won’t attain any silverware in the 2025/26 campaign.
“I don’t think they win anything,” he said.
“I think other teams get stronger. Yeah, I’m going to say no. [On ramifications] It depends on how bad it is and where they are.
“If they’re still in second and they’re in the hunt for a league title, then perhaps he [Arteta] stays. If they’re not, then I think there’ll be murmurs around, is he the right man to take them over the line?”
With three or four significant outlays on top-quality players, Arsenal should expect to be in the reckoning for major honours next season.
Manchester City have a long-term rebuild to pull off, while Liverpool’s key players are ageing and they’ll have to adjust to life without Trent Alexander-Arnold.
This should almost make Arsenal favourites for the title, while another assault on the Champions League should be expected.
