Jurrien Timber has opened up about what it’s like to have Viktor Gyokeres as part of the Arsenal squad.
At long last, Mikel Arteta’s wish for a striker was granted as Andrea Berta delivered Gyokeres to N5.
Already, the Swede has made an impact in North London, scoring his first Arsenal goal at the Emirates in the final pre-season test.
Now, the real challenges begin, with Gyokeres already having doubters to prove wrong, starting at Old Trafford.

Jurrien Timber is impressed with Viktor Gyokeres
Talk ahead of Arsenal’s season opener against Manchester United is on whether Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko will be the better signing.
The two strikers are set to go head-to-head after being linked to both clubs over the summer, but already, those at Arsenal believe they made the right choice.
Speaking to Arsenal’s official website, Jurrien Timber expressed how delighted he is to have the ‘amazing’ Gyokeres in his team.
“He’s an amazing guy, amazing lad. He fits in great with the group, just as all the other new players do. I think they have all adapted really well, and Viktor has amazing qualities.”
The Arsenal defender went on to share the four qualities he’s already seen from the Gunners’ new signing.
“I think together with Kai [Havertz], you have two completely different strikers, which is a big threat to our opponents.
“He’s so quick, so strong, powerful, very clinical in front of the goal. He’s a great guy as well. I’m really happy with Viktor.”
Gyokeres is already impressing in Arsenal training, showing his teammates what he will offer to the squad, with excitement building ahead of the 2025/26 season kick-off.
Gyokeres will be eager to play with Timber
Though Gyokeres is excited to play with every member of the Arsenal squad, the striker would’ve already been charmed by Timber.
When Arsenal beat Sporting CP back in November in the Champions League, the right-back was one of the best performers on the pitch.

Timber got an assist that day and was instrumental on the right side, not only defensively but as a creator too, recording three key passes.
Threat will come from all angles for Gyokeres at Arsenal, with Timber giving the Swede some added support from the flank.
