At long last, Arsenal have a seasoned goalscorer in their ranks following the signing of Viktor Gyokeres.
Gyokeres was unveiled as an Arsenal player after a lengthy transfer saga.
The striker arrives from Sporting CP, having scored 97 goals since arriving in Lisbon in 2023, saying all that needs to be known about his goalscoring prowess.
It’s clear that Arsenal fans are already excited to see Gyokeres in action, with Mikel Arteta’s new signing set to travel to Singapore for the remainder of the Gunners’ tour of Asia.

Viktor Gyokeres can’t wait to link up with the Arsenal team
It was only ever Arsenal for Gyokeres, who was involved in a transfer circus in order to secure his move to North London.
Before joining the Arsenal squad in Singapore, the 27-year-old underwent his media duties upon completing his transfer, where he was asked an interesting question.
Arsenal’s media team asked Gyokeres which teammate he was ‘most looking forward to playing with’, to which the forward gave a one-word answer.
“Everyone,” he said.
There will be several members of Arteta’s side who are more excited to link up with Gyokeres than others, as the Gunners’ attack has been replenished with one of the world’s deadliest number nines.
Gyokeres’ answer only reinforced his enthusiasm to get to work with his new teammates, and it’s fair to say that the feeling is mutual.
Arsenal squad hint at excitement of Gyokeres signing
It’s been a long wait for Arsenal to land their dream striker, with a reliable goalscoring presence missing in the team since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s exit.
The reaction of some of the members of the squad relayed the hunger for a new striker, as even before the deal was completed, some players failed to hide their excitement.
Myles Lewis-Skelly reacted to Gyokeres’ transfer like a schoolboy, mimicking the forward’s celebration with a beaming smile.
The excitement has only ramped up now that the deal is done, as on Instagram, Declan Rice, William Saliba, Ethan Nwaneri, Max Dowman, Bukayo Saka, and Noni Madueke have reacted to the news by liking Arsenal’s social media posts.
The squad will be counting down the hours to greet Gyokeres and get to work with the new signing, with plenty of goals to be scored ahead of the 2025/26 kick-off.
