Kai Havertz injury explained by Mikel Arteta

Kai Havertz will miss the remainder of the season after tearing his hamstring in a Dubai training session, the German striker is set for surgery on the injury.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Leicester v Arsenal, Arteta explained how the injury to Havertz occurred.

Arteta stated: “He was going to stop a shot after a set piece and he stretched the leg and he felt his hamstring.”

Mikel Arteta reveals Arsenal are looking at all possibilities amid injury crisis

Arteta has revealed that Arsenal will look to explore the free agent market following the devastating injuries suffered by the club.

Arteta is left with just three fit forwards in Leandro Trossard, Raheem Sterling and youngster Ethan Nwaneri.

Arteta stated: “We’ll explore every possible situation and make a decision from there.” When quizzed on the situation at his pre-match press conference.

Arsenal open fresh contract talks with Leandro Trossard

Leandro Trossard rejected Arsenal’s contract offer back in January but it seems that the club are looking to open fresh talks with the Belgian winger.

Some reports suggest an agreement is close between Arsenal and Trossard but it is believed that Jason Ayto is keen to talk to the Belgian’s representatives to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium.

The Belgian international has scored five goals this season and will be vital in the rest of the campaign being Arsenal’s most senior forward.
