Arsenal were knocked out of the Champions League in the quarter finals on their return to the competition after six seasons away.

As Arteta’s side announced themselves as Premier League title challengers that campaign, the change in tide at the Emirates was made clear.
Returning to the Champions League last season was a statement of Arsenal’s recent progression, with there little between the Gunners and Bayern Munich over the quarter final tie.
Havertz pinpointed the maturity that the squad now possess that wasn’t evident last term, with it a clear goal for Arteta’s players to put together a strong Champions League campaign.
