Arsenal will be praying that their bid to end the club’s trophy drought is not derailed by injuries yet again.

Last season the Gunners were hampered by injuries to key players as Bukayo Saka missed four months of the season and Gabriel Magalhaes missed the vital run-in.

Kai Havertz was another player that missed a huge chunk of the season with a hamstring tear and the German has been unfortunate once again at the beginning of this campaign.

Havertz underwent minor surgery after suffering a problem in the 1-0 victory at Old Trafford and the forward has sent a message to fans following the procedure.

Kai Havertz vows to return soon in message to Arsenal fans

Havertz has taken to his social media accounts to give an update to Arsenal supporters following his knee operation.

On his Instagram story the German simply wrote: “Back soon.” An indication that the injury is not as serious as first feared by the club.

On his X account, Havertz elaborated a little further with the message of: “Small set back, thanks to the medical team for all the care and attention. Back soon.”

Mikel Arteta has said that Havertz is in a ‘good place’ mentally and there is no doubt the forward will be working hard to get back on the pitch as quickly as possible.

Arsenal now in a better place to cope with Kai Havertz’s injury absence

Last season when Havertz tore his hamstring on a mid-season training camp to Dubai, it signalled the end of any realistic hopes of winning the Premier League.

However, Arteta’s squad is now in much better shape to cope with the loss of the German after Andrea Berta’s transfer activity this summer.

The arrival of Viktor Gyokeres means that the club have a natural centre forward replacement, but even the likes of Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke help with the strength in depth.

Havertz is such a versatile and important player for the Gunners, yet Arteta now has a number of options to replace his strength and work rate in the side.
