Despite his prior Tottenham allegiances, Boateng reserved some special praise for Ozil during this interview.
The former Barcelona star says that Ozil was one of the greats, claiming that the midfielder has become very underrated in the eyes of some.
In fact, Boateng went as far as to claim that Ozil was one of the best number 10s of the 21st century.
“I rate Ozil because he was one of the greats. People underrate him and people don’t give him what he deserves because he’s like political. What? Who cares about that? Let’s talk about sport. Yeah. He was one of the best number 10s in the last 20 years,” Boateng said.

Boateng faced off against Ozil twice at the World Cup as well as in the Bundesliga and the Champions League at club level.
