Arsenal have already caused some pain to Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe.

The France international is one of the best players on the planet, and it is very rare to see him come second best on the pitch.

However, Arsenal beat Real Madrid home and away in the Champions League last season, thus crushing Mbappe’s dream of winning the competition.

Now, the Gunners have done something else that’s going to make Mbappe sad.

Arsenal ruin Kylian Mbappe’s William Saliba dream

William Saliba was previously hailed as the Kylian Mbappe of defenders.

The two France stars were born in the same area and grew up together. In fact, Mbappe’s dad was Saliba’s coach in his early years.

When on international duty, the two friends get along very well, and Mbappe was keen to extend that relationship at domestic level as well.

Le Journal De Real claimed a few days ago that the ‘Mbappe clan’ was sending messages to Saliba, telling him that he would be welcomed with open arms in Madrid.

Arsenal fans feared the worst when those rumours emerged, but those worries have been put to rest now.

Saliba is all set to sign a new Arsenal contract, thereby ending Real Madrid and Mbappe’s wish of taking him to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The French striker must be upset now that his good mate will not be joining him in Spain.

William Saliba could beat Kylian Mbappe to one key achievement

Real Madrid very rarely fail to land the players they want.

Paris Saint-Germain learnt that the hard way when they lost Mbappe to the Galacticos on a free transfer in the summer of 2024.

One of the Frenchman’s biggest objectives after joining Los Blancos was to win the Champions League, which was something he failed to achieve in Paris.

Mbappe failed at the quarter-final stage last season after getting knocked out by Mikel Arteta’s side, who went one step further in the competition.

If Arsenal go all the way in the Champions League this season, Saliba will get his hands on the title before Mbappe, which would be a phenomenal achievement.
