Bukayo Saka missed a ‘Panenka’ penalty during the first half of Arsenal’s victory in Madrid before subsequently opening the scoring in the second half.
Spain’s media outlets have been reacting to the attempt to embarrass Thibaut Courtois and have slammed the England star for his efforts.
AS wrote: “Courtois kept the dream of a comeback hot in the first half by saving a penalty from Saka, although the Englishman collaborated by shooting it horribly. But the Belgian guessed the side and stuck out his hand.”

Mikel Arteta calls Pep Guardiola before Arsenal victory
Arteta has revealed that he called Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola the morning of his side’s tremendous victory at the Bernabeu.
At his post match press conference, Arteta stated: “I called him this morning, because I believe that I am here largely because of him. First, because for me as a player and coach, he was an inspiration.
“Then because he was the person who decided to take a chance on me, to bring me into his coaching staff and to live four wonderful years next to him.”
It was a night that showed Arteta and Arsenal belonged at Europe’s top table and now the Gunners have the chance to make history in the semi-final clash with PSG.

Arsenal interested in Brentford defender Nathan Collins
Arsenal are showing interest in Brentford defender Nathan Collins Arsenal Insider understands ahead of a potential summer swoop.
TBR Football’s transfer expert Graeme Bailey has revealed that Collins is one name on a list that Arteta and Andrea Berta are considering as they look to bolster their squad ahead of a title challenge.
Bailey stated: “Nathan Collins is someone who is on Arsenal’s radar, He shows up really well analytically. Also, scouting him and watching him, he’s got a lot going for him. Good age, 23, playing really well. He’s someone who Arsenal are considering.”
The Gunners are set for a busy summer of both incomings and outgoings as Berta looks to make his mark at the club.
