Arsenal have been linked with a transfer for Brighton star Kaoru Mitoma, as the Gunners look to land a new addition to their frontline.
With that in mind, Arsenal Insider understands that a deal will be tough for Arsenal to do, due to Brighton’s reluctance to sell the Japanese international.
The North London club, if they were to convince the Seagulls of a move, would then face competition from the Saudi Pro League and Bayern Munich for Mitoma’s signature.

Real Madrid eye Myles Lewis-Skelly transfer chance
Arsenal may face a new threat in their attempts to keep Myles Lewis-Skelly at the club, amid talks over a new contract.
The Hale End academy graduate has just one year remaining on his current deal with the Gunners, putting him at risk of leaving as a free agent next summer.
With that in mind, reporter Jonathan Wilson has claimed that talks are not progressing well, with Real Madrid lurking in the background.
Speaking to the Guardian Sport’s ‘Football Weekly’ podcast, Wilson said: “They’ve [Arsenal] got to sort out Myles Lewis-Skelly’s contract, which expires next summer, and I think talks have not been going well from what I hear, and Real Madrid are sort of sniffing around there.
“Imagine Real Madrid wanting a highly-rated Premier League fullback for free, almost unimaginable, isn’t it?”

Lionel Messi’s verdict on Arsenal transfer target Julian Alvarez
Arsenal have been linked with a surprise move for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez ahead of the summer transfer window.
The forward, formerly of Manchester City, made the switch to the Rojiblancos last summer in a deal conducted by Andrea Berta.
Now the sporting director at Arsenal, the Italian could look to bring the transfer target to the Emirates Stadium.
There have been plenty of big names praising Alvarez in the past, but few are quite as big as Lionel Messi.
Having played together in the national team, the Inter Miami star said on Alvarez back in 2022: “During the whole World Cup, but also on Tuesday, he was extraordinary. He ran everything. He fought for everything – creating chances, fighting.
“For us, he was the surprising discovery, and he deserves everything that has happened to him because he is a lovely guy.”
