Arsenal are facing the looming threat of Real Madrid in their efforts to keep Myles Lewis-Skelly at the club, if recent reports are to be believed.
The 18-year-old has enjoyed a breakout campaign with the Gunners this season, coming through from the Hale End academy into the senior team.
While he is a midfielder by trade, Mikel Arteta has used Myles Lewis-Skelly at left-back, allowing him to invert into central areas and play to his strengths.
With his rise to prominence, Arsenal have been locked in contract talks with Lewis-Skelly, hopeful of keeping hold of him for the future.
While the youngster seemed set to stay at the Emirates Stadium, there are seemingly growing concerns over a potential transfer exit.

Real Madrid want Myles Lewis-Skelly transfer amid Arsenal contract problems
Arsenal youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly signed his first professional contract in 2022, with it expiring in 2026.
The Gunners will be looking to seal a deal to extend that stay beyond next year, given his importance to the team.
While contract talks are underway with Lewis-Skelly, journalist Jonathan Wilson has given a worrying update on the star.
Speaking to the Guardian Sport’s ‘Football Weekly’ podcast, Wilson claimed that Real Madrid are hovering around a potential move, as the 18-year-old is stuck in those contract talks.
He revealed: “They’ve [Arsenal] got to sort out Myles Lewis-Skelly’s contract, which expires next summer, and I think talks have not been going well from what I hear, and Real Madrid are sort of sniffing around there.

“Imagine Real Madrid wanting a highly-rated Premier League fullback for free, almost unimaginable, isn’t it?”
It’s a clear hint at the ongoing saga with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid, with the defender set to leave his boyhood club Liverpool to join up with Los Blancos.
Arsenal will certainly be hoping that their efforts to keep a highly-rated academy graduate at the club are much more successful than their Premier League rivals, though.

Myles Lewis-Skelly’s display against Real Madrid may have hurt Arsenal
The rise of Lewis-Skelly to the Arsenal senior team has been nothing short of impressive, becoming one of the bright sparks in a difficult season.
Not many expected the 18-year-old to come in and make an instant impact, but he managed just that in his unorthodox full-back position.
There have been some rough moments, not least with Lewis-Skelly picking up a red card or two along the way, though that has been part of the learning process.
Perhaps the most impressive moment in the season was Lewis-Skelly’s performance against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
At the Emirates Stadium, there was a confidence in his play, which only translated into further confidence at the Bernabeu in the second leg.
While the performance was amazing at the time, it may have helped alert Real Madrid to Lewis-Skelly and his talent.
That, in the long run, could hurt Arsenal if they are locked in contract talks, with Los Blancos eyeing a free transfer.
