A new report has revealed the estimated current transfer value of Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

Aaron Ramsdale has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal this season.

Summer arrival David Raya is now clearly Mikel Arteta’s first choice pick between the sticks.

This decision has led to Ramsdale becoming unsettled with his situation at the Emirates Stadium, as he has spoken out publicly about how painful it was for him to lose his regular starting berth.

Naturally, this has led to plenty of speculation around the 25-year-old’s future. The 4-cap England international is undeniably an excellent goalkeeper, and shone for the Gunners regularly last season. Plenty of top clubs would surely love to add him to their ranks, and at this stage in his career he really needs to be playing regular football.

Ramsdale is certainly a sellable asset, and the Gunners may be tempted to cash-in on him in order to boost their coffers. However, the shot-stopper leaving mid-season would not be ideal for Arsenal as they would then need to source a direct replacement for him this month. Current third choice option Karl Hein is not ready to take such a step up in the pecking order.

How much is Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale now worth?

If Arsenal do sell Ramsdale in the near future then they can expect to fetch a pretty penny for him. According to the latest figures from Football Observatory, Ramsdale is currently ranked as the most valuable goalkeeper in world football, with an estimated transfer worth of around £69 million.

If Arsenal could get anything close to that figure for the former No. 1 then they would rake in a huge profit on the £30 million they shelled out to bring him to the club in the summer of 2021.

However, many Arsenal fans learning of this valuation will be frustrated to find out that Arteta currently has the world’s most valuable shot-stopper sitting on the bench week in, week out. This annoyance will be especially acute as Raya has been inconsistent at best since coming into the team.

In fact, even before now, plenty of Arsenal supporters have called on Arteta to reinstate Ramsdale as the first choice, due to Raya’s error-strewn displays. The Spanish coach has also come under fire from sections of the media for his treatment of the former Sheffield United man.

The fans’ annoyance would be salved somewhat if Ramsdale were to be sold for a fee in the region of £69 million, but even so, this report casts more doubt over Arteta’s decision to demote the player in the first place.
