Laurent Koscielny has been full of praise for two current Arsenal stars and has been discussing just how highly he rates them.

The former Gunners captain spent nine years in North London, during which he won three FA Cups and three Community Shields with the club.

Eventually, Koscielny left Arsenal in 2019 for Bordeaux before the 40-year-old hung up his boots two and a half years later.

The French international left quite a legacy behind at the Emirates Stadium, but now, he is enjoying watching two current players in the Arsenal squad.

Laurent Koscielny has admitted that he is a big fan of Arsenal defender William Saliba and hailed his partnership with Gabriel Magalhaes.

Saliba and Gabriel have formed one of the best defensive duos in Europe, and the former Arsenal defender thinks they are the best partnership in the Premier League.

When asked about Saliba, Koscielny told Footballogue: “For me, he (Saliba) and Gabriel form the best centre-back pairing in the Premier League right now, and what he’s showing with the French national team is just reward for his performances with this club.”

Both players have played starring roles in helping Arteta’s team to sit top of the Premier League after 11 games played.

Arsenal’s run without conceding came to an end against Sunderland, as former Hale End product Dan Ballard ended their run of 13 hours of no goals against.

But the two goals conceded against the Black Cats were just the fourth and fifth goals scored against the Gunners, highlighting just how strong they have become in defence.
