Leandro Trossard has named Thomas Partey as the most underrated player in the entire Arsenal squad despite the midfielder hardly featuring this season.

The Ghanaian international has endured an injury-ridden year that has seen Partey stuck on the treatment table for the majority of the campaign, with the 30-year-old making just five appearances in all competitions.

Given how important Partey was to Mikel Arteta’s plans, the midfielder’s absence has been a major blow to Arsenal’s system, though results in recent weeks have suggested that the former Atletico Madrid star hasn’t been missed too much.

And speaking to Footy Culture, Belgian international Trossard has now declared Partey as Arsenal’s most underrated player, with the midfielder due to return to action soon.

Mikel Arteta confirmed last week that Partey is back in training and could be back on the pitch for Arsenal in the coming weeks, with the UEFA Champions League returning this Wednesday.

Indeed, whilst Arsenal have done well to cope without Partey, there’s no denying that the midfielder’s return would be a huge boost for the Gunners heading into the final months of the season.

And with the squad’s form as good as it has been in some months, adding another world-class player into the mix in Partey could give Arsenal the lift they need to really challenge for the Premier League.

Having missed so much of the season, it’s easy to forget that Partey is still an Arsenal player, with the midfielder close to returning after months out on the treatment table.

Yet the time is soon upon us for Partey’s long-awaited comeback to football, and the 30-year-old will be itching to return to the pitch after not playing any football since October.

Arsenal’s squad will soon be bursting at the seems with quality, and Partey will be keen to stake a claim for himself in the starting XI heading into the final weeks of the season.
