The former Brentford captain has not played much football at the Emirates Stadium since his move across London; however, he is still a key part of the squad.

Arsenal paid just £10 million to sign Norgaard from Brentford, and it looks like a very solid investment considering his contributions to the squad.

The 31-year-old is setting a strong example at the North London club, and Trossard has now spoken very highly of his new teammate.

Leandro Trossard hails Christian Norgaard’s role at Arsenal

Leandro Trossard is a big fan of the work Christian Norgaard is doing behind the scenes at Arsenal and in the dressing room.

The Belgian winger claims that Norgaard is always setting higher standards for both himself and the squad, on and off the pitch.

It’s been a tricky six months for the midfielder, given the fact he has made just 13 appearances for the Gunners, but he remains a ‘good pro’, according to Trossard.

When asked which player is always setting high standards for the team, Trossard told The Premier League Show: “I would say Christian Norgaard is a good example of that.

“Because he always wants to set a higher standard for himself on and off the pitch, and I think he’s a very good pro.”

Next summer, Norgaard will have a big decision to make over his future and whether he leaves Arsenal to play more matches.

Mikel Arteta may well look to keep him, given how professional he has been, but Arsenal look to be keen to sign a new midfielder.

Sandro Tonali has been linked with a move to Arsenal, and he could be on the move at St James’ Park next summer.

Leandro Trossard on Riccardo Calafiori’s passion

Trossard has also named Riccardo Calafiori as the Arsenal player who plays with the most passion during matches.

Trossard said: “I think Riccy Calafiori is… The more he wins these duels, for example, the more he wants to go into them.”
