Arsenal legend Lee Dixon was blown away by one player at Euro 2024 this week who is reportedly wanted by the Gunners.

The north London side are yet to fully throw themselves into the summer transfer window, with Arsenal seemingly waiting for the end of Euro 2024 and the Copa America before making their move for new signings.

With Italy sensation Riccardo Calafiori strongly linked with a move to the Gunners, though, a new addition could through the front door sooner rather than later, with Arsenal also ready to move for a midfielder and an attacker.

And club icon Dixon was impressed with one rumoured Arsenal target this week at the Euros.

Ferdi Kadioglu hailed after Turkey performance vs the Netherlands

Speaking on ITV’s coverage of Turkey’s quarter-final clash against the Netherlands, Dixon was full of praise for fullback Ferdi Kadioglu, who this summer has been another breakout name at the Euros.

Dixon said on Kadioglu’s performance for Turkey against the Dutch: “Looks an absolute star doesn’t he tonight? I think that wing-back role really suits him as well.”

Reportedly valued at £17m, Kadioglu has captivated fans with his performances for Turkey this summer, who at the Euros have been one of the most entertaining sides in the entire tournament.

And with Dixon now giving Kadioglu his blessing, Arsenal could be motivated to move for the Fenerbahce star, though their pursuit for Calafiori could already shut down the need to sign another defender.

Kadioglu interest could soon end if Arsenal land Calafiori

A versatile fullback who is set for a big move this summer, it makes sense why Arsenal have been strongly linked with a move for Kadioglu in recent weeks after his performances for club and country.

Yet with Calafiori set to join Arsenal within the next few days, there’s a real chance that the Gunners could end their interest in signing Kadioglu, with a defender simply not needed if the Italian signs.

Indeed, the Bologna star will fill two key positions for Arsenal in central defence and at left-back, and for Kadioglu, the north London side will have no need to chase the Turkish international even if he has also impressed this summer at the Euros.
