Leroy Sane has now taken to social media amid rumours about Arsenal holding an interest in securing his signature.

It is no secret that Mikel Arteta and Leroy Sane share a connection.

As reported by The Standard, the former Manchester City winger has already previously hailed the Arsenal boss for the impact that his coaching had on him whilst they were both working at the Etihad Stadium.

Arsenal are now rumoured to hold an interest in signing Sane this summer, according to Sky Sports Germany.

Of course, the Gunners came head-to-head with the 28-year-old Bayern Munich winger last season in the Champions League. Sane caused huge problems for Arsenal in that clash, as he particularly terrorised Jakub Kiwior, who struggled to cope at left-back up against the electric attacker.

Arsenal have now bolstered their left-back options with the signing of Riccardo Calafiori, but Arteta will still have far less to fear from Sane going forward if he can make the 65-cap Germany international a member of his own squad.

However, the player has now indicated that he remains committed to Bayern Munich.

In the wake of the Gunners’ reported interest in Sane, the player himself has taken to X to reaffirm his commitment to his current club.

The winger posted four pictures of himself in the gym at the Bayern Munich’s training facility, along with the caption: “Back to work!”

Forget Sane, Arsenal must focus on signing Nico Williams

In truth, Sane is probably out of Arsenal’s reach this summer. However, it is clear that Arteta is keen to invest in that part of the pitch.

Arsenal are still in the race to sign Nico Williams. Whilst Barcelona are thought to be favourites to secure the Athletic Bilbao man’s services, the Gunners still ought to push as hard they can to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.

Like Sane, Williams is an explosive, rapid wide player with flair and vast reserves of energy. However, the Spain international is still only 22-years-old and arguably already offers more end product than Sane.

If there is any chance of Arsenal signing Williams, then they need to do whatever they can to make that happen.
