Arsene Wenger was Arsenal’s greatest manager and one of the most respected in the wider footballing world.
The Frenchman revolutionised Arsenal when he first arrived in 1996, and he won 10 major trophies, including three Premier League titles, in a 22-year spell.
Wenger left Arsenal in 2018, but rather than continuing in management, the 75-year-old took up a new role as Wenger became FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development.
This role has seen Wenger travel the footballing world, and he was recently pictured at Liverpool’s training ground.
During that time, he spoke to Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah, who has now revealed the advice the Arsenal legend gave to him.

Mohamed Salah reveals Arsene Wenger advice
Speaking to Liverpool club media, Salah revealed that he asked Wenger about the difference between “a good player and a really, really good player,” and Wenger gave a very interesting response.
“I think I got advice from Arsene Wenger before,” Salah stated.
“He was in Melwood at that time, I asked him what’s different between a good player and a really, really good player.
“He said, ‘I think the very, very good player is always focused in the game. Even if he doesn’t have the momentum, he stays in the game until the last minute or until the whistle.’
“I think for me, I know there’s some games where I don’t have the momentum, I don’t have the game, but I’m always focused in the game.”
Mohamed Salah’s record against Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal
Salah has tormented Wenger’s Arsenal on several occasions, despite only joining Liverpool in his final season in charge at the Emirates.
Wenger’s 1000th game in charge of Arsenal was one of his worst, as they were beaten 6-0 by Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea, in a game which saw Salah score his only goal for the club.
After a few years in Italy, Salah returned to England to join Liverpool in 2017, and one of his first games came against Arsenal, who were beaten 4-0 at Anfield.
Salah scored on the counter-attack in a dismal afternoon for Wenger, and he would score again in his Wenger’s final game against Liverpool a few months later.
The Egypt star made it 2-0 to Liverpool in December 2017, but a remarkable fightback saw Arsenal go 3-2 up just 10 minutes later, but the game ended 3-3.
Salah has continued to torment Arsenal, and he recently scored the equaliser in a 2-2 draw in North London, but he clearly valued the advice given to him by Wenger.
