The fallout from Arsenal’s victory over Liverpool saw the Gunners slammed for their post-game celebrations, and the controversy has now continued.
Arsenal produced a superb performance to record a richly-deserved win, in a game in which they were by far the better side as they dominated Jurgen Klopp’s team.
Goals from Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard cancelled out an unfortunate own goal, and it was a result which saw Arsenal claw their way back into the title race.
However, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher was unhappy with Arsenal and Martin Odegaard’s celebrations at full-time, and he piled onto the storm he created later this week.
Curtis Jones bemoans Arsenal celebrations in Liverpool victory
Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, who started at the Emirates on Sunday, has now told BBC Sport that he believes Arsenal are copying his side, and hit out at their celebrations after the game.
“Listen, that’s why I’ve got to shut it all down in a respectful way, I’d say,” he explained.
“The celebrations and all, that is all nice but for many years, we’ve always been a team, our fans have spoken about it and the gaffer himself, you know, the way he fist bumps the fans and stuff.
“That’s kind of like our thing. So if they want to be stealing our stuff, then it shows that we’re on the right path and we’ve got these who are copying us.”
Liverpool have been bitter since Arsenal defeat

There has been more focus on how Arsenal celebrated their win, than Liverpool’s vastly underwhelming performance which saw Mikel Arteta’s side stroll to collect all three points.
Jones himself, was part of a midfield which could not get anywhere near Declan Rice or Jorginho on the day, in what was their second league defeat of the season.
Klopp is a manager who has celebrated passionately for years and been applauded for it. Now the shoe is on the other foot, the bitterness from Liverpool players and their former stars this week has been obvious, and this has only raised the pressure on Arsenal rather than the team who lost the game.
Arteta has celebrated passionately in front of the Emirates crowd since he became manager in 2019. That he did it against Liverpool, is not an irregular occurrence, and Jones would be better off focusing on how his side can recover from what was a dismal display in North London.
