Chido Obi left Arsenal to join Manchester United in the summer of 2024.
The 17-year-old was one of the best young players of his age in the world when he was with the Gunners.
Chido first made the headlines when he scored 10 goals in a single game for the Arsenal U14s against Liverpool in November 2023.
He broke several records in the higher age groups in the following months, and many people viewed him as the future of Arsenal.
However, Chido decided to leave Arsenal for Manchester United, and that may have been a mistake.
Chido Obi sends a wordless message to Max Dowman after his full Arsenal debut
Max Dowman is the best young talent in English football.
The 15-year-old has been impressing for the Gunners’ academy sides in recent seasons, and he was officially promoted to the first team at the start of this campaign.
After a few substitute appearances, Dowman got to make his full Arsenal debut in the Carabao Cup clash against Brighton and Hove Albion on Wednesday night.
The teenager was very impressive on the right wing and caused the Seagulls all sorts of problems. Fabian Hurzeler even compared Dowman to Bukayo Saka after the game.
To celebrate his full debut for Arsenal, Dowman posted a few pictures of himself on Instagram with the caption: “More to come. Grateful”
Bukayo Saka, Cristhian Mosquera and Arsenal legend Ian Wright all replied to his post with emojis, as did former Gunners sensation Chido Obi.
He just commented a heart emoji, showing his love for young Dowman.

Chido Obi could’ve started for Arsenal alongside Max Dowman
Dowman wasn’t the only academy star in the Arsenal starting line-up against Brighton; Andre Harriman-Annous got the nod as well.
The 17-year-old started up front instead of Viktor Gyokeres, and he impressed everyone with his display.
Chido must have been looking at Harriman-Annous and thinking how that could’ve been him if he hadn’t left the Gunners in 2024.
Even in the second half of last season, when Arsenal had their striker crisis, Chido would’ve definitely got opportunities up top.
It is a real shame that the teenager decided to leave the Gunners when the pathway was so clear.
Now, Chido’s loss is proving to be Harriman-Annous’ gain, and we’re sure he will get a few more opportunities in the coming months.
