Martin Odegaard has now used just one word to sum up his Arsenal teammate Ben White.
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard was recently asked to come up with one word to describe many of his Arsenal teammates.
The Norwegian clearly has great affection and respect for his colleagues, along with Mikel Arteta, who he described simply as “boss.”
In an interview with ESPN UK, posted to their X page, the former Real Madrid man did not hesitate to use this as an opportunity to heap praise on many of his North London colleagues.
Gabriel Magalhaes was described as a “beast”, Declan Rice was called a “machine”, and William Saliba a “Rolls-Royce.”
Meanwhile, Odegaard labelled Jorginho a “master”, Leandro Trossard a “baller”, and Bukayo Saka was called “Starboy.”
The 25-year-old is always quick to hand out credit where it is due. For instance, Odegaard heaped praise on the Hale End starlets who joined the first team on their recent pre-season tour of the US.
However, when he was asked to sum up Ben White with one word, Odegaard could not resist aiming a playful dig at the right-back.

The one word Martin Odegaard used to describe Ben White
When Odegaard was asked to define White with a single word, the midfielder simply said “tan.”
Of course, White’s tan has been referenced before, gently poked fun at, and has become something that many associate with the defender.
White enjoyed some exotic holidays this summer, meaning he may well have returned for pre-season more bronzed than ever before.
If Odegaard had used this opportunity to discuss the full-back’s impact on the pitch, though, there are plenty of positive adjectives he could have used. After all, White will once again be a key player for the Gunners this season, and his defensive solidity, technical ability, and outstanding work rate are all vital to how Arteta’s side attack up the right flank.
Odegaard comments underline Arsenal unity
The fact that Odegaard is comfortable publicly poking fun at White speaks to the harmony within the Arsenal camp. These players are clearly all comfortable with one another.
This will delight Arteta. The manager has always promoted the importance of unity. This summer, Arteta put in measures to encourage the Arsenal players to bond even further, and he will now feel that those efforts have clearly paid off.
