Martin Odegaard has given his verdict on Arsenal’s rumoured transfer plans this summer, with the Gunners recently springing into life.
The north London side, like most top clubs in Europe, had spent the first three week or so of the summer market completely dormant, with Arsenal not announcing a single new signing or offloading a player for an actual fee.
However, this week has seen things change quickly for the Gunners, with academy prospect Mika Biereth’s £4m move to Sturm Graz being confirmed, as Arsenal are now closing in on the signing of Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori.
And club captain Odegaard has now shared his opinion on what the Arsenal squad need this summer.

Odegaard ‘not too worried’ about new signings but trusts Arteta and Edu
Speaking to the press, the Norwegian international admitted that he’s very pleased with the current Arsenal squad and that he’s ‘not too worried’ about new signings, though Odegaard did say he trusts Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar to make the right calls.
Indeed, it’s clear that Arsenal need reinforcements this summer if the Gunners are to bridge the gap with Manchester City, and Odegaard is seemingly confident that the powers who be will be able to improve the squad this summer.

Odegaard said on Arsenal making new signings: “I am really happy with the squad we have. We have unbelievable quality and I think we showed what we are capable of, especially towards the last part of the season with how well we played.
“We made history and all those things. So I am not too worried about that. That is down to Mikel and Edu and the club to sort those things. I am really happy with the squad. It’s a joy to be a part of this group.”

New signings could take Odegaard’s game to a whole new level
Odegaard is already regarded by many as one of the best midfielders on the planet, yet the right signings at Arsenal this summer could take the 25-year-old’s game to a whole new level.
Namely, a new striker who Odegaard can bounce off his creative genius with, with the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah and Kai Havertz not the sort of forwards who benefit greatly from world-class passes.
Next season could be the one Arsenal finally get their hands on the Premier League title, and it will take big signings in the market if Odegaard is to lift the English championship come the end of the year.
