Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard was left so impressed with teammate Aaron Ramsdale’s performance for England in yesterday’s win.

Odegaard took to Instagram to leave a comment on Ramsdale’s post celebrating the victory.

Odegaard was so impressed with Arsenal teammate Ramsdale.

Arsenal’s Norwegian simply commented with two emojis, clapping hands and a heart.

Why Pele Is Overrated.

And whilst Odegaard was busy having an excellent night himself with his country, he found time to congratulate his goalkeeper.

Despite all of his success of late, Aaron Ramsdale is under a lot of pressure.

At both club and country Ramsdale is locked in a fierce battle for the number one spot.

And whilst this is hoped to push the keeper to new heights at Arsenal, it must carry a burden.

David Raya’s arrival will create an uncomfortable situation for the pair at the club, but that’s seemingly exactly how Mikel Arteta wants it.

And from both keepers’ perspectives, all they can do is perform to their best, just as Odegaard noticed Arsenal’s Ramsdale doing last night.

£30m Ramsdale was unfortunate to lose his clean sheet to an awkward own goal.

And the 25-year-old really impressed alongside teammate Declan Rice.

Odegaard loved what he saw from Arsenal’s Ramsdale

Of course, fans will now wonder how realistic the prospect of Ramsdale replacing Jordan Pickford is.

Gareth Southgate does have a rare approach of loyalty towards players even if club circumstances suggest they might best be dropped.

Jordan Pickford has by no means been poor at Everton, but Ramsdale is now playing at a much higher level.

Fans may be surprised that Southgate is overlooking a goalkeeper striving for titles over one trying to avoid relegation.

However, Pickford does have Southgate’s faith for a good reason.

And although Southgate will probably be just as impressed as Odegaard was with Arsenal’s Ramsdale, he’ll probably remain number two for now.

However, that could definitely change as time goes on.
