Arsenal are jetting off to Asia to continue their preparations for the 2025-26 campaign.

Mikel Arteta is taking a 30-man squad for games against AC Milan, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle in the far east.

It gives new signings Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard the chance to blend in with their new teammates, whilst Kepa Arrizabalaga will work closely alongside David Raya in the goalkeeping department.

Noni Madueke wanted to be part of the tour but was told to rest by the club following his exertions with Chelsea in Club World Cup but fans will be excited to see Max Dowman and Marli Salmon among the travelling party.

Arsenal announce 30-man squad for pre-season tour of Asia

Dowman and Salmon are joined by fellow academy products Andre Harriman-Annous, Louie Copley, Josh Nichols, Ismael Kabia and Alexei Rojas.

It is a wonderful opportunity for the Hale End youngsters to showcase their talents and make their mark with the first-team squad.

Albert Sambi Lokonga is in the squad despite being linked with a move away from the Emirates, as is defender Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Reiss Nelson is also included as he continues his recovery from hamstring surgery and has been linked with a return to Fulham.

There is no place for Fabio Vieira after his exploits with Porto at the club world cup and fans will also be hoping the likes of Cristhian Mosquera and Viktor Gyokeres could join the tour at some point if deals can be completed.

Arsenal begin pre-season with a win over Watford behind closed doors

According to a number of reports, the Gunners began pre-season preparations with a 3-0 victory over Watford in a match behind closed doors at London Colney.

No information is known regarding goal scorers or which players appeared in the encounter but Arteta will be pleased with a clean sheet to begin the campaign.

Attention will now turn to Asia, where the Spaniard will look to strike a balance between giving established first-team stars the minutes they require and blooding the youngsters into the side.

Exciting times for fans, as soon as the first pre-season friendly gets under way, all thoughts turn to another season at the Emirates.
