Max Dowman is the man on everyone’s lips at Arsenal right now and he’s been given a special comparison to Brazilian legend Kaka.
Kaka was one of the finest midfielders in Europe over the course of three to four seasons and excelled at AC Milan before dropping off a touch at Real Madrid.
Nevertheless, Dowman’s impressive cameo against Everton has got people raving and experienced journalist Henry Winter has admitted he reminds him of Kaka.
Max Dowman now compared to Kaka
Speaking on TalkSPORT, Winter spoke of Dowman’s ability and admitted he reminded him of Kaka, while springing a warning about former Man United man Ravel Morrison.
“He’s obviously special and it’s potential at the moment but it’s potential that will quickly become reality because of the people around him,” Winter said.
“You know who he reminds me of? And it’s hard to compare with other people obviously but there’s an element of Kaka, with the way he picks up the ball and glides forward. And also, deceptively quick.

“I mean the way he just absolutely raced through. He is a special player but I can remember seeing Ravel Morrison playing for Man United behind closed doors and the commentator there was raving about him and look at him now. Had his chance at Man United, his chance with West Ham, now he’s playing second division of the UAE.
“It’s about making sure you have good people around you and mixing that attitude with the ability.”
Why Frank Lampard claimed Kaka was one of the best ever
To be compared to Kaka is some praise. The Brazilian was probably the best attacking midfielder in the world between 2005 and 2008 and is deservedly looked back on as a brilliant player.
Indeed, at his peak, even Frank Lampard admitted he would pay to watch Kaka.
“Kaka is the only player in the world I would pay money to watch. Some of the things I have seen him do on the pitch amaze me,” Lampard said previously.
“He has the lot — fantastic skill, pace, vision, great passing and he scores goals. As a midfield player you are lucky if you have three of those attributes.
“For me, he is the best player in the world and he’ll probably go down as one of the best ever. I’ve admired him for years. I look at a player like that and see if I can learn anything from him.
“And when a player enjoys watching another professional you know they are something special.”
Certainly, then, if Dowman can emulate just part of Kaka’s career, he’ll have done more than ok.
Right now, it’s about just keeping on going, learning, and improving.
