Arsenal star David Raya has been one of the best players in the world this season.
The Spaniard has produced several remarkable saves since the start of the campaign, the most recent of which came late in the win over Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.
Micah Richards is a big fan of Raya, so much so that he got into a jovial argument with his podcast pals while speaking about the Arsenal number one.
Is David Raya the best goalkeeper in the world? If not, who is?
Alan Shearer gets compared to Roy Keane for his comment on Arsenal’s David Raya
If Arsenal go on to win any silverware this season, David Raya will be among the biggest reasons why.
The Spaniard has been incredible from the very start, and if it weren’t for some of his saves, the gap between the Gunners and Manchester City would’ve likely been a lot less than nine points.
Thierry Henry nominated Raya for the Player of the Season award recently, and Richards seems to agree with the legendary Frenchman.
On the Rest is Football podcast, Gary Lineker revealed his top three for the award: Declan Rice, Dominik Szoboszlai and Bruno Fernandes. The former Tottenham man cheekily added that he won’t pick any defenders in his list.
Richards immediately said: “You know what? Raya’s been incredible.”
Lineker replied: “Come on!”

Alan Shearer jumped into the debate and said: “Defenders are hard enough, he’s not putting a keeper in there.”
Lineker then joked that Richards was going too far, but he agreed that Raya has been incredible for Arsenal this season.
The former Manchester City man further added: “He makes a worldie save every single game, every single game!”
Shearer, out of nowhere, replied: “Amazing, that is his job.”
Richards then hit back by saying: “Alright, Roy!”
Lineker echoed that and said: “I was just going to say, he has turned into Roy Keane.”
Richards concluded the argument by saying: “Come on, some of the saves that he makes, they’re not normal. What a goalkeeper. Yeah, proper agile!”

The David Raya vs Kepa Arrizabalaga debate for Arsenal’s Carabao Cup final
Mikel Arteta has a huge decision to make in goal when Arsenal take on Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
Raya is the club’s number one and arguably the best goalkeeper in the world right now. If you’re picking the strongest Arsenal team, he starts every day of the week.
However, Kepa Arrizabalaga has been the man in cup competitions this season, and he has done a good job for the Gunners when he has played.
Arsenal fans are divided over who should start in goal in the final on Sunday. If it were up to us, we would go with Raya!
