Mikel Arteta could now be about to do what Arsenal’s Invincibles did after Man City sign Marc Guehi

Arsenal are in the driving seat to win the Premier League title, but Manchester City have not given up yet.

Pep Guardiola is arguably the greatest manager football has ever seen, and he is desperate for his side to go all the way in the title race.

After watching Mikel Arteta’s men go six points ahead of them, City have made two huge moves. They have signed Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth and are on the verge of landing Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.

Those signings definitely increase their chances of overtaking Arsenal, but the Gunners could repeat what the Invincibles did back in 2004.

Do you think Arsenal’s Invincibles record will ever be broken? If yes, by who?

Arsenal could win the Premier League despite Manchester City’s new signings

Semenyo and Guehi were both linked with moves to Arsenal as well.

The Gunners are a very attractive club to players right now, and there are hardly any in world football who will reject a move to the Emirates.

In fact, David Ornstein claimed that Semenyo’s first choice was actually Arsenal. He only moved to City because the Gunners wanted to wait until the summer.

Guardiola will not care about that, but Arsenal shouldn’t worry about their title rivals’ new signings either – just like the Invincibles never did over two decades ago.

In January 2004, Manchester United signed Louis Saha in an attempt to stop Arsene Wenger’s side from winning the Premier League title.

That Arsenal side didn’t care about that and went on to win the title. Arteta’s side could now do the same in the coming months.

Arsenal could finally get their revenge on Manchester City

Manchester City have caused a lot of pain to Arsenal over the years.

Aside from beating Wenger’s sides back in the day, Guardiola is the reason why the Gunners did not win the Premier League title in 2022/23 and 2023/24.

In 2023, many felt that Arsenal would go all the way, but a 4-1 defeat at the Etihad Stadium killed their title dreams.

Arteta’s men return to the Etihad Stadium in April, and they could finally get their revenge on Manchester City by ruining their title hopes in their own backyard.

That would be fantastic for Arsenal fans.
