Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be working on a plan to beat Manchester City in the Premier League.

The Spaniard is unbeaten against his former mentor in five games, winning two and drawing three. Arsenal even battered City 5-1 in their last meeting.

Arteta would love nothing more than a repeat of that when the two sides meet at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta could change Eberechi Eze’s position for Arsenal vs Manchester City

Arsenal signed Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners brought seven other players in as well, but nobody raised the excitement levels at the Emirates like the England international.

Eze has been deployed on the left wing at Arsenal so far, and he has done a decent job. He came close to scoring against Liverpool on his debut and then assisted Viktor Gyokeres’ goal against Nottingham Forest.

In the game against Athletic Club, Arteta even screamed at Eze to stay wide because Riccardo Calafiori had inverted and taken up a central position.

However, the Daily Mail have now revealed that Arteta still views Eze as a number 10.

Martin Odegaard missed the game midweek due to injury, and it’s unclear if he will be fit for the clash against City at the Emirates.

The report claims that Eze could start in the number 10 role if Odegaard doesn’t make it. That would completely change the dynamic of Arsenal’s attack.

What happened when Eberechi Eze last played as a No. 10 vs Man City

Eze is a very versatile player.

The Englishman can play on either wing, as a number eight and even in a box-to-box role if required, and he is effective in all of those positions.

Eze has played as an attacking midfielder against Manchester City in the past – the last time was in the FA Cup final at Wembley.

The new Arsenal signing scored the only goal of the game to help Crystal Palace win their first-ever piece of silverware.

Eze also scored against Manchester City in his last Premier League appearance against them. He played as a number 10 in that game as well.

Pep Guardiola will have every reason to be worried if Arteta ends up deploying Eze in an attacking midfield role on Sunday.
