Arsenal had three fresh injury blows heading into their clash with Fulham on Sunday, which forced some changes from Mikel Arteta.

Gabriel Magalhaes, Riccardo Calafiori and Oleksandr Zinchenko were all injury concerns, with the trio missing out at Craven Cottage.

In another make-shift backline, the Gunners went behind early as Raul Jimenez danced beyond the Arsenal defence and slotted an effort beyond David Raya.

The side drew level through William Saliba’s headed goal from another corner, though even more chances went begging.

A late effort from Bukayo Saka seemingly gave the Gunners the lead, but it was ruled out by VAR for offside.

It meant the side took a frustrating draw away from their west London rivals, with another big week ahead.

Mikel Arteta gives Arsenal injury update after Fulham

With the injury concerns starting to make the Arsenal squad look thin, there will be some hope that the key players can make a return to action soon.

With Gabriel Magalhaes, Riccardo Calafiori and Oleksandr Zinchenko the recent trio to join the long-term issues of Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu in being on the medical table, the Gunners boss gave an update.

Speaking to the press, he said: “I hope [players will return against AS Monaco on Wednesday] but it’s more a question for the doctors. We are missing a lot of players in the backline.”

It doesn’t give loads of insight into the specific injury issues and how long each player will be out for.

However, there will be some hope that the issues are only short-term and some returns can come in the week ahead.
