Arsenal put their Premier League struggles behind in search of some form in the Champions League in midweek, taking on AS Monaco.

The Gunners drew 1-1 with Fulham over the weekend, coming as a disappointing result that saw them drop points in the race for the title.

While the domestic push is far from over, the European league phase is entering the final few matches and could offer a chance for Mikel Arteta to pick up a head of steam over a busy December.

In the Champions League, Arsenal sit just above their opponents AS Monaco in the race for a top-eight finish – which guarantees a place in the round of 16 and avoids a two-legged play-off,

There are a few players who have injury doubts before the game though, with the manager giving an update on their condition.

Mikel Arteta gives latest Arsenal injury update for AS Monaco clash

Mikel Arteta spoke to the media ahead of Arsenal vs AS Monaco in midweek, giving an update on the fitness of his players.

Coming out of the draw with Fulham, Gabriel Magalhaes, Riccardo Calafiori and Oleksandr Zinchenko were injury doubts – with the trio missing out on that match.

On top of that, Jurrien Timber and Thomas Partey are fresh injury scares after the duo missed training before Monaco.

On top of that, Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are long-term injuries for the side, with the duo recovering from knee issues.

When asked about the latest on injuries, Arteta told the press: “We have to manage a lot of the players, some of them are not gonna be fit to be able to play tomorrow, some are still a doubt.

“We still have 24 hours to make those decisions and hopefully the right ones.”

When asked about the injury crisis, Arteta responded: “It is what it is. At the end we have to accept the challenge and the opportunities for other players as well to do that.

“In the ideal scenario we have to be in charge of making those decisions because we don’t want to make it for the wrong reasons as well we need to accept reality and move forward.”

It means Arsenal could be missing a whole host of players when they face Monaco at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.

Monaco team news vs Arsenal

Monaco face a few selection dilemmas of their own, with several stars facing the possibility of missing out on the clash.

Wilfried Singo and Christian Mawissa are both suspended for the tie – handing some issues at the back to the French club.

Hale End academy graduate Folarin Balogun looks set to miss out through a shoulder issue, while Krepin Diatta and Edan Diop are injury doubts.

How the team solves that remains to be seen, but there are some big gaps that will have to be solved if they want to overcome Arsenal.
