Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has claimed that Bukayo Saka has a “good chance” of returning from injury after the international break.

The Gunners head into the March break with a bit of momentum, beating Chelsea 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium, courtesy of Mikel Merino’s header.

There will be over two weeks without Arsenal having to return to action, at which point they have a huge few weeks ahead.

Mikel Arteta will be looking to put his side together for a run of Premier League matches on top of a Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.

Fortunately, it seems as though Bukayo Saka could return from injury, which would be a huge boost for the side.

Mikel Arteta gives update on Bukayo Saka injury

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has been out of action since mid-December when he tore his hamstring in a clash with Crystal Palace.

The winger required surgery, with a procedure taken to ensure that he could recover properly from the incident.

A three-month absence was expected, with Saka’s return to training only further increasing the talk surrounding a place back in the side.

With a long spell away before Arsenal are back in action once again, it could see the winger back in action.

When asked about that possibility post-match, Mikel Arteta told Sky Sports: “He has a good chance, yes.”

It’s the most positive the Arsenal boss has been about the Hale End academy graduates possibilities of being involved.

What next for Bukayo Saka’s return from injury?

So far, it seems as though Saka has been eased back into action with training, slowly building himself back to fitness.

It means the winger has been in training but without a ball at his feet, something that is set to change very soon.

Arteta claimed before the Chelsea match that next week is likely to see the winger feature with the ball once again during training.

Not being involved in the England squad comes as a boost for Saka, who can now take over two weeks to get himself ready for the clash with Fulham.

It also gives him extra time to feature against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
