Myles Lewis-Skelly’s future at Arsenal has become a hot topic of conversation this season.

The teenager broke into the Gunners’ first team last term and became their first-choice left-back. He started games against the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City and impressed.

Everyone felt that Lewis-Skelly would start every game this campaign, but Riccardo Calafiori has leapfrogged him in the pecking order.

If you were Myles Lewis-Skelly, what would you do in the January transfer window after barely playing this season?

Thomas Tuchel has warned Lewis-Skelly that his World Cup chances are dependent on his game time, which is why many felt that a loan move away in January is a possibility.

However, Arsenal have no interest in that.

Arsenal have decided that Myles Lewis-Skelly is going nowhere in January

Arsenal are in a bit of a defensive crisis because of injuries.

The Gunners were without Ben White, Gabriel Magalhaes, Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie in their previous game against Crystal Palace.

Calafiori had to play as a centre-half, and the only defensive option on the bench was 16-year-old Marli Salmon.

Arsenal cannot lose more defenders now, which is perhaps why Mikel Arteta is not willing to let Lewis-Skelly leave in the winter window.

That’s according to Football London, who have revealed that Arsenal have no interest in allowing the teenager to make a move away from the club.

It has further been claimed that if clubs pick up the phone and contact the Gunners about a transfer – either loan or permanent – they will be told ‘in no uncertain terms’ that Lewis-Skelly is going nowhere.

As things stand, the Arsenal academy graduate will remain at Arsenal until the end of the season.

What Arsenal privately think about Myles Lewis-Skelly’s game time ahead of the World Cup

The only reason Lewis-Skelly would have to leave Arsenal, if he does, would be his lack of game time this season.

The teenager is yet to start a game in the Premier League this term. He has only played 820 minutes of football in all competitions so far.

If Myles Lewis-Skelly could only play in one position for the rest of his career, would you have him at left-back or in midfield?

Lack of game time in the second half of the season could cost him a place in the England World Cup squad, but Arsenal believe he will get plenty of minutes.

The report claims that there is confidence within the club that Lewis-Skelly will play more when the Gunners have to juggle between the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and the Carabao Cup in the coming months.

We think keeping Lewis-Skelly is the right decision, but his good pal Ethan Nwaneri could well be sent out on loan in January because Arsenal have plenty of options in the positions he plays in.
