Mikel Arteta is facing a race against time to fix Arsenal’s attacking issues as the Premier League title race heats up.
Liverpool are running away in the race for the Premier League title race at present however with 16 games to go, all hope is not lost.
There is belief that Arsenal can win the Premier League in May but a lot of work needs to be done to solve some pressing issues.
Arsenal’s lack of attacking depth was raised by Arteta following the Gunners’ draw to Aston Villa, as the North Londoners continue to find a solution for their front line.

Mikel Arteta has faith in impact Raheem Sterling can offer Arsenal
One of the biggest question marks over Arteta’s head right now is why the summer transfer window was so poor at the Emirates.
The Spaniard welcomed just one forward in the window to bolster his already light attack, seeing Raheem Sterling arrive on loan from Chelsea late on deadline day.
Arsenal have not seen the best of the Englishman since his arrival, with injury and lack of minutes playing a part however, Arteta still believes the best is yet to come in his summer capture.
Speaking to TNT Sports ahead of Arsenal’s Champions League clash with Dinamo Zagreb, Arteta spoke highly of Sterling, backing the winger to improve.
“He’s [Sterling] picking the rhythm now, he was getting better then picked up an injury that stopped it,” Arteta explained.
“We need him because he can create a lot of threat in the opposition box and unpredictability, which is something we need that’s important against low block.”
Glimpses of Sterling’s quality have been seen in an Arsenal shirt but not consistently as of yet, with now the perfect opportunity to make something special from this loan spell.
Sterling could be Arteta’s answer to Arsenal’s low block issue
As well as improving, Arteta highlighted that Sterling’s threat could assist Arsenal in finally getting the better of oppositions in a low block.
Jamie Carragher commented on Arsenal’s threat coming from wide areas, which appears to be the way that the Gunners are attempting to break down tough oppositions.
| Club | Apps | Goals | Assists |
| Man City | 339 | 131 | 73 |
| Liverpool | 129 | 23 | 17 |
| Chelsea | 81 | 19 | 12 |
| Arsenal | 14 | 1 | 2 |
While Arteta firmly believes that the wide areas are where his squad are most threatening, the quality has been missing of late to leave defences spellbound.
That’s where the Arsenal manager believes Sterling can come in and help, with a source of inspiration badly needed right now for the North Londoners.
