Mikel Arteta has shared an injury update on Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres ahead of the Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.
Gyokeres narrowly missed out on the North London Derby but was in attendance to cheer on his teammates.
When Bayern Munich visit the Emirates, the striker will hope to be on the pitch to pick up where he left off in the Champions League, last scoring twice against Atletico Madrid.
With the huge test against Vincent Kompany’s side in sight, Arteta issued an injury update on Gyokeres, lifting the lid on his fitness status ahead of kick-off.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the Arsenal manager confirmed that Gyokeres isn’t in contention to feature on Wednesday night, but is close to returning.
“Really good both of them [Gyokeres and Havertz], in the next few days they will have scans to see if we can push them for the weekend.”
