The Gunners could’ve restored their seven-point cushion at the top of the Premier League table with a win, but they were just not good enough.

Mikel Arteta explains why Arsenal lost to Manchester United after rewatching the game twice
Contrary to many of the opinions out there, Arsenal actually started the game against Manchester United very well.
The Gunners controlled the tempo brilliantly, were dominant on the ball, and were completely the better side in the opening exchanges at the Emirates.
Arsenal deservedly went ahead, but from that point, they began making several uncharacteristic mistakes.
That, combined with their lack of creativity in attack, is the reason why they lost the game, but Arteta believes Manchester United’s efficiency is the reason why his side ended up losing.
The Arsenal manager said, as relayed on HaytersTV: “It’s nothing to fault – attitude or effort or willingness – it’s not that. It was a really strange game.
“Watching it back two times as well, to accept that we lost that game is tough. Do you deserve to lose it? Only for one reason – because of the efficiency they [Manchester United] had.”

Arsenal are still the favourites to win the Premier League
The defeat against Manchester United was a really disappointing one for Arsenal, but the reaction from some fans and pundits has been crazy.

Arsenal have a much easier schedule coming up.
The Gunners have just five games to deal with in February, which means the players will have plenty of rest to get back in shape.
