Eberechi Eze’s first season in an Arsenal shirt can be classed as a success by most fans and Mikel Arteta certainly seems to be a big fan.

Eze’s wonder goal got Arsenal over the line in their last Premier League game and he has had an increasingly positive impact on the team in recent months.

Ahead of facing Fulham this weekend, Arsenal know that Eze might once again be key to unlocking the Cottagers’ defence.

However, while Eze’s qualities are obvious, Arteta believes it is how he influences everyone else around him that is so impressive.

Mikel Arteta says what he finds so impressive about Eberechi Eze

Eze’s name is already etched in Arsenal fans’ minds thanks to his record against Tottenham. But for Mikel Arteta, he’ll be hoping there’s even more to come as he spoke about the midfielder in his press conference.

Asked about Eze’s way of playing and the freedom he has being one of his best qualities, Arteta agreed.

“I think so. I think it’s part of his character and he has a unique way of expressing himself. Inside, none of us knows how he’s feeling, but what he actually transmits to the world outside is such security, calmness and composure in every situation on the field,” Arteta commented.

Delving further into the impact and that freedom, Arteta was then asked if how Eze plays can translate to the rest of the team.

Indeed, the Arsenal boss believes the England man can rub off.

“He does, and especially the way he talks and connects with people, it’s very much like that. I think that’s something special,” Arteta continued.

“I think we need players like that, we need players that can have a different kind of presence on the pitch and body language, and Ebs brings something else that I think is unique and very powerful for the team.”

Eze needs to take the next step next season

For as good as Eberechi Eze has been this season, there is a feeling among many that he has even more levels to go up.

There are times in games when he looks far and away the best player on the field and when he’s in that mood, he looks unstoppable.

However, despite hitting 10 goals this season, Eze needs to push himself to make the next step up and become the main man at Arsenal and in the league in general.

Someone like Bruno Fernandes is a good focus for Eze. The Man United man’s numbers are just brilliant and the influence he has on his teammates is huge.

This is what Eze needs to do next to ensure he keeps progressing. If he does do that, then we might well get to witness one of the all-time great attacking midfielders at some point.
