Arteta gives update on several players

Arteta faces another week of selection dilemmas with fitness doubts over several players.

One player in contention is Bukayo Saka, as Arteta said as reported by Sky Sports, “Let’s see if he can make it tomorrow.

“We have a few still in contention,” he said.

“We need to give them another 24 hours to give them a chance to be involved in the game, but we won’t know anything until tomorrow.”

One who is facing a race to be fit is Martin Odegaard, on whom Arteta said: “He’s still racing against the clock. He is trying everything that he can. Let’s see. It’s a possibility.”

On Thomas Partey, Arteta explained he is out for a while: “He’s progressing really well but it was a significant injury. I said it’s going to be weeks and not months. He’s working towards that and he needs support.

“Hopefully the injury will heal in the right way and we’ll have him back because he’s a big player for us.”

He added that Emile Smith-Rowe is also “probably” out too
