2025 is here and it’s time for New Year’s Resolutions for everyone including those at Arsenal.
The Gunners finished 2024 with the most points among any other club in the Premier League. The aim will be to get even better this year and lift a big trophy or two in the process.
Mikel Arteta has a lot of work to do over the next few months. His side are already nine points behind Liverpool and there is no margin for error.
The Arsenal manager is desperate to turn things around, and he is hoping for one thing in 2025.
Mikel Arteta reveals his New Year’s Resolution at Arsenal
Arsenal need a few results to go their way in the coming months to pip Liverpool to the Premier League title.
The Gunners are more than capable of winning most games from now until the end of the campaign. They have already shown that they can beat any side in the country on their day.
The one problem, however, is injuries.
Bukayo Saka is ruled out for over two months after undergoing surgery on his hamstring, while the likes of Ben White, Raheem Sterling and Takehiro Tomiyasu are all currently injured as well.
It’s not easy to sustain that many injuries, which is why Arteta’s New Year’s Resolution is injury-related.
In his press conference ahead of the game against Brentford, the Arsenal manager was asked to name his New Year’s Resolution for 2025.
He replied, as relayed on HaytersTV: “Keep everybody fit, that’s it!”

How Arteta can keep most Arsenal players injury-free
Arteta’s resolution is perfect – he has to keep everybody fit. That, however, is easier said than done.
Most of Arsenal’s injuries this season have been muscle-related and not due to bad challenges from opponents.
Arteta admitted that Saka’s injury is due to accumulation of games in recent years – that can be avoided from now and there’s a simple way to do it.
Arsenal need to improve their squad depth. Two top-class signings in the winter window followed by a few more in the summer will give Arteta the option to rotate when some of his players are tired.
That will reduce fatigue and bring down the risk of muscle injuries. That should help keep most Arsenal players injury-free.
